That might only give you thousands of planes, killing the performance of any system with no possible downstream process. The big gun is Geomagic Design X which may even export the history tree (good luck), but expensive. COMSOL can import (3D) STL files, and meshes of some sorts, but has trouble with 3D DXF.

Can someone point me to the documentation/help files There were none in the download from sf. ZW3D started also some Reverse Engineering. I want to try MeshLab to see if it will be able to convert file formats for use in COMSOL Multiphysics, but I don't even know where to start. Cutting lots of sections into the STL is a good start so your CAD can at least touch something in space rather than importing a dumb STL file and looking at it. For Solidworks, use the 3DSystems Plugin. Spaceclaim is pretty good and affordable with redrawing profiles and easily drag them into the right space. For more analytic forms better use a true reverse engineering solution. The same functionality sits hidden in the cheap Geomagic Design (formerly Alibre).

Geomagic WRAP creates a spiderweb style network automatically, good for organic. Totally depends on the model and the needed output.ĭo you need it for claiming the remaining space, does it have to be smooth or as close to the facets as possible? Is it organic or more cubes & cylinders like? Best use a demo download of some sophisticated software. There is no possible conversion, but must be interpolation therefore. You’ll be presented with the captured scene made from 3D points.

This has been happening the last week or so but would sometimes. I’ve tried updating my graphics drivers, resetting my in game settings, turning off overlays, and repairing my game files. I thought it just crashed at first because task manager showed crashmailer64.exe but i just left it by accident and it came up. Thats called 'Discrete Geometry'Ī CAD file is mathematically perfect Geometry, called 'Continuous Geometry'. Open Meshlab, Select File Import Mesh and choose the y file. The game takes around 3-6 minutes to launch from pressing the play button. Ahah! I document this here for other puzzled users :) Once I played with that, I was soon creating 1 unit squares with 2 million triangle meshes on them. Google wasn't a lot of help initially, but eventually I noticed from comments on FriendlySkies that it permanently displaces a texture. Not sure why - I handn't told it which file to use for displacement at this point. It apparently created 1024 triangles and only left me with 2. It asked me for 'Max error' (I don't know him) and 'Simplify tolerance' (never met him either'). So I made a spline mesh, converted it to a triangle mesh, and ran Tools->Scripts->Convert to Displaced. It says it cant convert anything that isn't a triangle mesh.
